MATS

Mats are the paper borders that surround works on paper (ie: photography, drawings watercolours, etc.). They come in different thicknesses: 4-ply (standard), 6-ply and 8-ply with a broader selection of colors being relegated to the thinner board.

Beyond the aesthetic need of a border, there is a functional aspect to matting which lifts the glass away from the art to protect it. MH Art & Framing uses only Acid-Free mats to help preserve your work on paper.

MOUNTING BOARDS

Each piece of art will have requirements specific to itself. We recognize this and suggest the appropriate method and board for mounting your art. We stock Acid-Free foamcore and a 4-ply museum board for permanent heat activated mounting or archival hinging of paper works to the board.

GLAZING

MH Art & Framing Gallery offers different grades of regular, UV, museum and non-glare glass as well as high grade acrylic (plexi-glass) for picture framing.
