Environmentally Conscious Vendors Join the "Green Machine"

Many of the vendors we work with have been sending us literature about their effort to address the environmental issues our trade (and the rest of our planet) face.

Roma Moulding states:
"we take great care and pride in knowing that our mouldings are made using only woods from active reforestation programs. Our suppliers are FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) approved and adhere to strict guidelines. We also use reclaimed wood when appropriate."

Other vendors we work with that have become aware of this need are Universal Framing Products, AMPF/AMCI and Nurre Caxton (see left)

EcoCare

Nurre Caxton/Nielsen Bainbridge
Offers EcoCare as a Green Alternative

Nurre Caxton offers the new Ecocare lines, the Sherwood and Blackwood profiles, touting them as "Earth Friendly mouldings" that are "new, beautiful and responsible."

"All woods are harvested from managed forests...areas that are carefully monitored, controlled and grown using a host of modern forestry techniques. This assures our forests will continue to provide clean air and water, stunning scenery, home for wildlife and jobs.

The colors of Sherwood and Blackwood are achieved with organic, water based stains. These stains allow for the beauty of the wood grain to show through. No oils, no chemical solvents are used.

EcoCare gives (you) a choice (you) feel good about. Offering EcoCare products says alot about your business and its commitment to a cleaner world."

While the two profiles are limited in style, MH Art & Framing Gallery is keeping their fingers crossed in the hopes that the new lines will be expanded with additional designs.

If anything, the Blackwood profile, a simple, timeless black profile design, is an "earth friendly" option for the simple "black frame treatment."
